Express Care
Express Care at the Frye Regional Medical Center
If you come into the emergency department with a heart attack, you will be evaluated differently than if you come in with a sprained knee. Depending on your complaint you may receive care in our Express Care area.
At Frye Regional Medical Center, we have an Express Care area in the emergency room designed to reduce wait times for patients that have less serious conditions so that you can be evaluated in a timely manner and discharged.
Conditions or complaints that may be seen in our Express Care area:
-
-
- Sore throats
- Coughs
- Cuts with minor bleeding
- Sunburns, etc.
-
Patients who come to the emergency room will be evaluated based on their individual complaints. Some complaints may be a sign of something more serious. Sometimes a patient’s condition can worsen. In these cases, you would then need to be seen in another area of the emergency room.
The Express Care area is staffed with an experienced emergency department team to provide quality care. We can assure you that you will receive compassionate, professional care in the Express Care area.
Patients do not make appointments to any area within the emergency department, including Express Care. Patients are evaluated and placed in the appropriate area based on their complaints and medical condition.
If you cannot wait to see your primary care doctor, our Urgent Care located in Conover is available for minor, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries and appointments are available. It is open 7 days a week including holidays.
